Birthday Party

A week before my birthday, I start asking my parents about my birthday celebration. Since my birthday is in the winter, it is usually celebrated in the indoor arena and my younger brother's birthday is in the summer, so it is usually celebrated in the outdoor arena. Let's invite all the friends for the birthday celebration. Everyone will give gifts. Many times they are a new game. We will also give souvenirs to all birthday attendees.

Since my birthday is indoors, we choose a new venue every year. We celebrated one year in a bouncing house. It had facilities for sliding and jumping. Another year we celebrated with dashing bumper cars. All friends enjoyed driving. We celebrated one year at the indoor soccer field. We all celebrated by playing football.

We always celebrate my brother's birthday in some park. He likes to celebrate in the park. There are lots of balloons, food and space to run and play so we can celebrate his birthday there for a long time. We have to leave within the specified time in the inner arena. But that concern is not in the outer arena.

Every year we buy a new cake. I got cakes in the shape of Cars, Super Hero, Pokemon, Jake-Pirates. Thinking about what kind of cake to get each year and choosing from the many varieties in the store is a fun activity. Isn't the shape of the cake as important as its taste? I love the mango flavor. Every year I choose the mango flavored cake.

On both of our birthdays, dad would take care of the food for the day to a children's home in Tamil Nadu. Every year a photograph comes from the orphanage where more than a hundred children stay and study. Dad will show me that. It makes me happy to feed all of them on my birthday. When I became a teenager, I didn't celebrate birthdays. But I told my father that we must continue the tradition of celebrating in this archive.

We invite our friends, and they give us lovely gifts, for which we give them a memento in return.

Since we celebrate my birthday indoors, every year, we choose a new venue such as a bouncing house or a dashing car ride. One year, we even had my birthday at an indoor football court, and we all played football together.

On the other hand, my younger brother's birthdays are always celebrated in open parks, where there is no time restriction. We have a great time playing games, eating food, and enjoying balloons. Indoor venues have a limited time frame, but this restriction does not apply outdoors.

We buy a new type or shape of cake every year. I enjoy ordering car, Pokémon, and superhero-shaped cakes. Choosing a new shape is always exciting for me, and I love visiting the bakery to find the perfect one. The taste is just as important as the shape, and I always choose a mango-flavored cake.

On both of our birthdays, my father donates money to feed orphaned children in India. Hundreds of children enjoy a good feast on our birthdays, and my father shows us pictures they send. I feel happy that they are fed on my birthday.

When I reached my teenage years, I stopped celebrating my birthday. However, I asked my dad to continue the tradition of feeding the children.

Sunrise at Mt. Rainier

Early in the morning, at 3 am, we started trekking up the mountain to witness the sunrise. When friends asked about managing the three-hour early morning sleep, traveling in darkness, and the cold weather on Seattle's mountain, numerous questions scared me. Idylwood Beach Park

Idylwood Beach Park is a cute little park located on the banks of Lake Sammamish.
