Gardening
Having plants at home is beautiful. Brand new leaves. New buds, new flowers are all beautiful. Even a dead leaf is beautiful. If plants in a pot are beautiful, plants in the garden are even more beautiful. Being with different plants brings happiness. We have a variety of rose plants in our house. There is a marigold plant and an apple tree. There is also a green lawn. To keep the lawn green, it needs to be watered two to three times a week during summers.
Every year, as summer sets in, we start tending to the plants again. We'll be doing something with the plants like changing their soil, adding compost, and putting them in a sunny spot. Every year we buy a new plant. We will find a suitable place for the new plant and dig a hole for it and bury the entire root in the soil. Put new soil and water it. We will monitor for the next few days and make sure the plant recovers and grows.
Let's put new soil in the garden and make a new mound. We will grow vegetables like tomatoes and beans in it. We will take care of soil, fertilizer and water. They grow and bear fruits in one month. We have made this a routine every year. Picking and cooking vegetables from our home garden is a celebration in summer.
Cultivating these vegetables requires a lot of work. Regular monitoring, watering, weeding and eye care should be done. It takes so much labor to maintain just a few plants. How much labor do farmers have to produce the food we eat every day? They should be thanked. Maintaining large farms is a challenging task. Due to the labor of farmers we get good vegetables and grains.
Land, water, air, rain for good agriculture. Everything is as necessary as the sun. We celebrate Pongal as a farmer's festival. Let us thank the sun that day. They also thank the plow cow that helps in farming. Let us all remember the farmers with gratitude and celebrate Pongal.

Plants make the house and its surroundings beautiful. Not only new leaves, new buds, and new flowers, but also dried leaves in the fall, every aspect is so lovely and beautiful. Potted plants have their own beauty, while plants and trees in garden soil give another kind of beauty. Living with lovely plants gives a nice, satisfied feeling.
In my house, we have an apple tree, chrysanthemum plants, and a lovely lawn. To keep the lawn green, we have to water it thrice a week regularly. Every year during summer, we repot the plants, change the soil, add fertilizers, and move them to a sunny area. Like this, we do chores in the garden. We also buy new plants every year. After planting the new plant in the soil and watering it, we will keep caring for it until it stabilizes its growth.
In our garden, we would make a small patch for tomatoes, and beans, and tend to them dearly. In a month, they would yield their produce. We do this every year religiously. During summer, we enjoy cooking our own vegetables from our garden. Isn’t it truly enjoyable?
To grow these few vegetables, we spend so much time with extraordinary care. Imagine how much a farmer would work in their land to bring food to our table. We must be grateful to our farmers. To grow large farmlands is a Herculean task. Farmers toil to bring us good produce like grains, vegetables, and fruits.
Good farming needs land, water, air, rain, and sunlight. We celebrate Pongal or Makara Sankranti to appreciate the farmers. We thank the Sun god, farmers, and the cattle used in farming on that day. Let's always feel thankful to the farmer when we celebrate Pongal.
